A low pressure system crossing the region today is responsible for rain and an eventual wind shift. Our Thursday starts with widespread showers in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, and we’ll gradually dry out from the west and southwest through the morning and afternoon. Areas of fog have set up this morning with locally dense for high terrain areas of the Head of Lake Superior. A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for Carlton County and South St. Louis County until noon. Skies clear this evening, then cloud cover remains rather minimal tonight with patchy fog developing.
Motorist transported following crash in Fayal Township
FAYAL TOWNSHIP—A motorist was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries following a crash in Fayal Township on Friday, according to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol. NLX Meets Downtown Business Leaders Over Luncheon
DULUTH, Minn – The Northern Lights Express has been discussed for years here in the Northland… and Tuesday the project was the subject of an informational lunch downtown. The NLX Board met with the downtown council to describe the project’s details and share a vision for the future. St. Louis County Commissioner Keith Nelson has been involved with the project for over 18 years. He chairs the NLX Board and says light rail continues to prove that it is THE transportation mode of the future. He says support of the downtown businesses who gathered today is critical for the success of the project.

Chisholm School District prepares to break ground on new school
CHISHOLM—The Chisholm School District announced recently that it is ready to break ground on a new school building. At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, a groundbreaking is taking for a new preschool through grade six elementary school, including a gym, and cafeteria/commons, at 301 Fourth Street Southwest, according to a news release. Chisholm approves school business office contracts
CHISHOLM—The Chisholm School Board took steps this past Monday to finalize rebuilding the district’s business office. At a meeting last month the board approved hiring Noah Kaczor as the district’s business manager, and on Monday the board approved a two-year contract with Kaczor.
