Edgecombe County student wins historic scholarship
A local high school graduate added one more accomplishment to her impressive resume. In addition to turning her tassell at Thursday’s graduation ceremony, North Edgecombe High’s Kalyn Johnson also was recently awarded the historic Annie and Sallie Ann Wheeler Memorial Scholarship. J.H. Rose Key Club presented charter
A group of J.H. Rose High Schools students recently received their charter as a Key Club from Kiwanis International. Accepting the charter was Abby McPhail, charter president, and Olivia Perry, lieutenant governor of the Carolina District. Presenting was Neil Dorsey of Golden K Kiwanis Greenville, the sponsoring Kiwanis Club. The 2024-25 officers also were inducted: Lorian McGillicuddy, president; Maya Swaggerty and Marly Singleton, vice presidents; Bergan Osborne, secretary; Adison Adler, treasurer; Tara Drake, webmaster; and Sydney Collins, editor. Molly Chandler serves as the J.H. Rose adviser. The club completed a book collection program and began planning for service projects for the 2024-25 year.
