According to court documents, James Dingman, 44, of Lancaster, was using his cell phone when he drove a tractor-trailer into Ralph Porfido in February 2022 in Littleton.

SAINT JOHNSBURY, Vt. — Three people were sent to the hospital after they were hit by a dump truck in St. Johnsbury on Monday. The St. Johnsbury Police Department said they were notified of a crash involving a dump truck at 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Railroad Street and Concord Avenue.
Two vehicles totaled in Lyndon collision, one driver hospitalized
LYNDON — A head-on collision on Red Village Road near Black Walnut Lane resulted in two totaled vehicles and minor injuries for one driver, Vermont State Police reported. The crash occurred at 11:14 a.m. when Joslyn Richardson, 35, of Barre, fell asleep at the wheel of her 2019 Subaru Impreza and struck a 2021 Hyundai KONA operated by Danica Rolfe, 48, of Kirby.
Massachusetts man sentenced for organizing Northeast Kingdom drug ring
Burlington, VT- A Massachusetts man was sentenced to nearly 8 years in prison for selling cocaine and fentanyl in the Northeast Kingdom. Juan Carlos Ortiz, 29, from Springfield, MA, had previously pleaded guilty to the charges of selling drugs between November 2021 and August 2022 under a plea agreement. According to court records, Ortiz organized a group of 13 people in a drug-distributing network that sold mostly in the Northeast Kingdom, including Orleans, Essex, and Caledonia Counties.

St. Johnsbury man accused of chasing men with butcher knife
ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (WCAX) - A St. Johnsbury man was arrested for allegedly chasing people with a knife. According to St. Johnsbury police, 40-year-old Alexander sergeant regularly sleeps on the benches in front of the welcome center in town. While responding to an alarm , police say two men approached an officer and said a homeless man chased them wielding a knife. Police say security footage shows sergeant yell at the men and then remove a 14 inch butcher knife from his jacket, and chase after them. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, and will be in court in June.

LYNDON — A Lyndon man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after being found unresponsive behind the wheel on Fall Brook Road. Lyndonville Police Department Patrol Officer Daniel Renaudette discovered the vehicle at about 2:18 p.m., with the engine still running and the driver, Adam Gilman, 38, slumped over the steering wheel.
