Driver gets prison for fatal crash after running red light in Kalamazoo
KALAMAZOO, MI -- The driver who ran a stop light and killed another man was sentenced to prison for multiple counts, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. At 1:39 p.m. July 3, 2023, Miguel Angel Huerta-Altamirano was driving a vehicle west on West Cork Street at about 75 miles per hour and failed to stop or slow for the red light at South Burdick Street, causing a crash with three other vehicles, KDPS said in a news release on March 1.
