OSU graduation marked by joy, solidarity and shocking death

    Good morning!

I hope you all had a restful weekend and got to enjoy some sun in between the clouds and rain. I certainly did and was reminded how much I love sunscreen.

Ohio State's spring commencement was eventful for both joyous and tragic reasons on Sunday. Let's review.

    Review Session

More than 12,500 graduates received their diplomas Sunday afternoon at Ohio State's spring commencement. The day was marked by joy, solidarity and trauma.

Joy because it was a day that recognized and celebrated the students who never got to walk at their high school graduations in 2020 because they were canceled during the pandemic.

At a moment where college graduations are taking place as campus protests calling for a ceasefire in Gaza , some Ohio State grads showed solidarity with Palestine in more personal ways.

And traumatic because of a tragic and unexpected death that happened at the stadium right as the ceremony was set to begin.

I invite you to spend some time with my article wrapping up yesterday's graduation . Hug a loved one. Check in on your friends. And celebrate a graduate during this exciting season.
