    Columbus and Central Ohio Weather

A cold front slipped through the region in the afternoon, accompanied by scattered showers and storms, but bringing in slightly drier air this evening.

Skies will be partly cloudy overnight, with patches of fog forming, as the boundary settles near the Ohio River.

High pressure will build across the Great Lakes tonight, but the respite from the higher humidity and showers will be short-lived. A band of rain and a few storms will affect the southern half of the state on Monday, while the northern counties stay dry, with partial sunshine.

Low pressure in the southern Plains will push a a warm front north Tuesday, accompanied by another round of showers and storms in the afternoon, and a few on the strong side.

The weather pattern will be active through midweek, as a series of disturbances moves east from the southern Plains to the Great Lakes, resulting in occasional showers and storms. A trailing cold front will slip southeast on Thursday.

Much cooler weather will arrive before the weekend, with high temperatures in the 60s. A few showers are possible even next weekend in a cool, unstable northwesterly flow.
