COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — After a very warm and humid day across the region we will transition to a more unsettled weather pattern over the coming days as we watch for weak impulses that will likely bring a few weakening Mesoscale Convective Systems (MCSs) through the southeast.

Models continue to struggle with the development of these systems through Saturday; as computer models usually tend to do as we approach the summer season. For the remainder of the week and start of the weekend, temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s. At the moment, we have stray showers and storms for both Friday and Saturday to factor in the uncertainty in forecast models.

A better measurable rainfall chance comes as early as Sunday morning. Likely locked in cloud cover and showers through Sunday as our next big weather system moves through. Widespread severe weather potential is not expected at this time.

Next week begins cooler as the system is exiting with highs in the low 70s for Monday with temperatures quickly back into the low 80s by the midweek. By Wednesday, a few showers and storms are back into the forecast with the return of the mid 80s.
