    Columbiana softball clinches league title outright, again

    HANOVERTON, Ohio (WKBN) – Columbiana clinches its third straight outright EOAC championship by topping United, 13-6.

    Caitlynn Pleska went for 5 for 5 at the plate, which included her 8th home run of the season while driving in six runs. Ella Dota accumulated three hits and finished with 3 runs batted in.

    Mackenzi Gamble went the distance for Columbiana on the mound (7 innings), striking out 5 batters.

    The Clippers’ senior class has now accumulated an overall league mark of 44-1.

    Columbiana (22-3, 12-0) will take on Howland on Monday.

    United was led by the bat of Madelynn Lucas and Chloe Angelo, who closed out their night with two hits. Sam Lippiatt smashed a homer as well.

    The Golden Eagles are scheduled to meet East Liverpool on Thursday.
