    COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man who was accused of firing four shots in the parking lot of a Columbia apartment complex over the weekend has been charged with five felonies.

Carlos Brown Jr., 37, of Columbia, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, illegal gun possession and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond.

An initial court appearance was scheduled to be held Thursday. His next court appearance has not been scheduled. However, jail records say he has a court appearance set for 9 a.m. Thursday, May 23.

According to the heavily redacted probable cause statement, Brown allegedly got into an argument with a woman in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 2600 block of Jacobs Place on Sunday evening. No injuries or property damage was reported on Sunday, according to previous reporting.

Brown then allegedly went inside a white sedan, drove about 40 feet away and fired a gun three times into the air, according to the probable cause statement. Brown then allegedly fired a fourth shot towards a dumpster, the statement says.

Multiple witnesses in the probable cause statement claim they saw Brown fire the gun three times into the air and one shot into the ground.

Police found two shell casings in the parking lot of the complex, the statement says.
