SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Mizzou “Come Home Tour” swung through the Ozarks Wednesday night.

For the third year in a row, local Tiger boosters got to hear from Mizzou coaches.

Baseball’s head coach, Kerrick Jackson was on hand, one day after his Tigers beat Missouri State.

But the star of the show was football coach Eli Drinkwitz.

This past season Drinkwitz led Mizzou to a 11-2 record.

The Tigers were nationally ranked ninth and beat seventh ranked Ohio State 14-3 in the Cotton Bowl.

And Drinkwitz was named the Associated Press’s SEC coach of the year.

    But that was last season.

2024 will be Drinkwitz’s fifth season in Columbia.

And he told the Tiger boosters that Mizzou can get back to those lofty standards.

“I just know this, we’ve got a really great football team with a lot of experience coming back. It obviously starts with our quarterback, and for us, it’s about building momentum and not rebuilding. So for us, whether it’s our offense, defense, or special teams, there’s a standard and expectation of performance that we have now and we look forward to continue to build that,” said Drinkwitz.
