The former Moscow Police chief in Idaho who resigned following the arrest of Bryan Kohberger is currently seeking a new job. Earlier this year, James Fry, the former Moscow Police Chief, announced plans to run for Latah County Sheriff. A review of the Idaho Campaign Finance System website by Newsweek also confirmed Fry's intent to run for the Latah County Sheriff's position.

WSU Student Accused Of Threatening Students With A Knife Inside Dorm Warranted Again For Failing To Appear In Court
PULLMAN - The Washington State University student accused of threatening students with a knife on campus has been warranted again for not showing up to court. Taylor Asante failed to appear at a court hearing on Friday in Whitman County Superior Court. The hearing involved Asante’s felony harassment case. Asante was arrested by WSU Police in October for allegedly threatening and chasing students with a knife inside a dorm hall. The arrest warrant for Asante includes a 50,000 dollar bond.

PULLMAN - Washington State University (WSU) is set to implement strategic reallocations in its core fund budgets, resulting in a $5.5 million reduction for the fiscal year 2025. This cut represents less than 1% of WSU's $1.3 billion total annual budget and a 1.61% decrease in the core fund operating budget.
Ending Of WSU COVID Mandates Brings Thousands Of FFA Students Back To Pullman For State Convention This Weekend
PULLMAN - For the first time this decade, the iconic blue jacket FFA high school students from around Washington will descend on Pullman this weekend. The state convention is returning to its traditional home at Washington State University for the first time since the pandemic. Washington FFA had to move its convention to the Tri-Cities for the last two years because of the WSU administration’s COVID mandates. Administrators banned FFA teenagers from staying in dorms on campus unless they were vaccinated. Now that the vaccine mandates have been dropped thousands of FFA students will be back in Pullman for their state convention.
Man who Fled From Lewiston Police Traffic Stop in April Arrested Two Weeks Later
LEWISTON - A homeless man that fled from a Lewiston Police traffic stop in April was arrested after being spotted by police on Saturday. In the early morning hours on April 19, Lewiston Police began watching a sedan that was parked at a gas station on 16th Avenue in Lewiston. There were two occupants inside of the vehicle. The driver was later identified as 27-year-old Saxxon Vaughn, who is listed as homeless in court documents.

Avista Says Power may be Turned off to Certain Locations to Avoid Wildfires This Year
LEWISTON - Avista is adding a new strategy to its wildfire mitigation plan. The utility announced this week that if extreme weather conditions are forecast, like low humidity and strong winds, Avista may turn off power in specific locations to help protect public safety. This is called a Public Safety Power Shutoff, or PSPS.
Whitman County Coroner confirms cause of death of 25-year-old Pullman woman
PULLMAN - The Whitman County Coroner's Office has confirmed the cause and manner of death for Jamie Ann Wilson-Spray, the 25-year-old female in the incident in the 600 NW Block of Fisk Street in Pullman. The cause of death was asphyxia due to compression of the neck and is being ruled a homicide.
