UIL state golf: Abilene-area golfers wrap up state tournament
Abilene-area golfers concluded play at the UIL state golf tournament on Tuesday. Colorado City’s Kaylynn Epperson turned in a two-day score of 175 at the UIL Class 2A girls tournament at Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin. Epperson, who finished 14th in the state, shot an 82 during the second round for her best finish of the tournament. In Class 4A, Sweetwater’s Bailey Rainbolt carded a two-day score of 183, which included a 91 on Tuesday. Man charged with murder in connection with April shooting
LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A man was arrested in Synder in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Lorenzo Soto. Just before 2 a.m. on April 21, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of I-27. When officers arrived, they found Soto with a serious gunshot wound. He was taken to UMC for treatment, where he later died.
