Center Court Is On The Indiana-Ohio Border

There is a gymnasium located in eastern Indiana where a shot can leave your hands in one state and drop through the net in another. The Union School sits on the stateline at College Corner, Ohio and West College Cornet, Indiana … the first gym one was built together in 1893. A replacement was designed in 1925 and dedicated on December 21, 1926, with a center stone set on the boundary and an arched doorway on each state’s side. Center court is the border.

Dr. Geri Maples wrote “Surviving The Wounds Of War, As Told By The Heroes, Invisible Unseen” after her husband, a decorated National Guard veteran, showed symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) shortly after he finished his service. RICHMOND, IN — Republican Austin Shadle on Tuesday was elected as judge of Wayne Superior Court 2. Shadle, a court commissioner, defeated an independent candidate, Jessica Richert, 8,702 votes to 5,185. He will succeed Judge Gregory Horn, who did not seek re-election to the Superior Court 2 bench. In another contested race, Republican Barry Ritter won the District 2 seat on Wayne County Council, drawing 2,973 votes to Democratic opponent Ryan Ogden's 1,622. In another Wayne County Council contest, Republican Richard Tincher won the District 4 seat over Democrat Tom Pennington, 2,165 votes to 1,909. Republicans Mark Cox (Wayne Superior Court 3 judge), Alan Moore (sheriff), Ashley Green (prosecutor), Amy Chenowith (auditor), Debbie Tiemann (recorder) and Brad Dwenger (commissioner) did not have opponents in Tuesday's election. Republican incumbents Jeff Cappa (District 1) and Beth Leisure (District 3) also were elected to county council seats without opposition. (Wayne County, IN)--Wayne County no longer has the most cases of measles in Indiana, but it’s not because the number of cases has dropped. According to numbers released by the state’s Department of Health Monday, Wayne County cases of measles have increased in the last week from 14 to 17. After having led the state for several consecutive weeks, Wayne County is now second behind LaGrange County, which has 26 cases. Randolph County is the only other Whitewater Valley County with any cases. It has two.

In the contested races in Decatur County, Democrat Dennis Fogle defeated Republican incumbent David Israel in the Clay Township Trustee race. Republican Larry Heger wins the County Council District 4 race. Fellow Republicans James Stewart, Alan Wayne Campbell and Darren Covington were elected to the Washington Township Board.
