New learning center for children coming to Abilene
As Abilene continues to grow, so does the demand for reliable childcare. Abilene native Kylie Cockerham hopes to help meet that need with the launch of Bloom and Belong Learning Center, a new childcare facility designed to provide local families with a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow and thrive. "I've lived here my entire life, so I've seen a lot of daycares open and close, and I've seen a lot of need for childcare that just wasn't being met," said Cockerham. As a mother herself, Cockerham says she has experienced firsthand the challenges many families face when searching for dependable childcare. While her own children have since outgrown daycare, she said those experiences inspired her to create a consistent, trustworthy option for other families in the community. "I've had to leave work multiple times, or go knock on a daycare door and find out it's closed for the day with no notification," said Cockerham. "I've had some pretty bad experiences with daycare, and I want to make sure there's some change. With all of the families moving to Abilene, I want to help provide consistent childcare and be a part of that solution." The new childcare center
