Coal Township, Pa. — A woman who was attempting to visit an inmate at the State Correctional Institution at Coal Township was arrested after officers discovered she had drugs on her.

Bahtia A. Greene, 31, of Philadelphia, went to visit an inmate on April 19 at SCI-Coal Township when a drug canine alerted staff to the possible presence of narcotics, according to Trp. Austin Bennett of state police at Stonington. Greene was signing in at the time.

Prison staff called state police who conducted a search of Greene and her vehicle. Police found a controlled substance as well as paraphernalia.

Greene was charged with two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct obscene language. Although police say she was found with drugs, she is not facing any charges related to possession or paraphernalia. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 11 at the office of District Judge William J. Zalinski.
