Fayette County man facing drug charge after traffic stop
MEADOW BRIDGE, WV (WVNS) — A 36-year-old Fayette County man was arrested and now faces a felony drug charge after a routine traffic stop in the county. According to a press release, Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies carried out a routine traffic stop on a car driven by Phillip R. Brandstetter, 36, of Danese, for a minor traffic offense. During the stop, the deputies obtained probable cause to search the car.

State Park Aerial Tram Replacement Nearing Completion
Replacing the aerial trams at one of two West Virginia State parks moved a little closer to the finish line with an announcement on Monday. Scheduled for replacement after more than 50 years in service, a new state of the art aerial tram at Pipestem State Park is ready to re-open this fall. The $12.4 million tram replacement will transport Pipestem guests down the same, iconic 3,400-foot path into the Bluestone Gorge.
Former W.Va. correctional officer sentenced for providing contraband to federal inmate
BECKLEY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A former correctional officer is facing a prison sentence for providing an inmate with controlled substances at federal prison in Raleigh County. Cody Adam Bays, 32, of Beaver, was sentenced to one year and six months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release Thursday for providing contraband to an inmate at FCI Beckley, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of West Virginia.
