Joliet narrows selection of lead companies for city comprehensive plan
The City of Joliet Land Use & Economic Development Committee met on Wednesday to discuss and recommend two companies to lead the city’s efforts to complete a long-term comprehensive plan. A comprehensive plan is a visioning document that guides the choices and civic investments of a community based on the feedback from within that community. Joliet has not completed a long-term comprehensive plan for nearly six decades. Such plans are usually performed every 10 years.

Illinois soldier laid to rest 74 years after Korean War death
ELWOOD, Ill. - The remains of an Illinois soldier were laid to rest on Wednesday, 74 years after he passed away in the Korean War. Army Private First Class Bryan Myers, 21, died in September 1950 while fighting in the Korean War. His remains were only identified in February 2024 after being exhumed from the Punchbowl Cemetery in Hawaii in March 2019.
