CLINTON — The Clinton High School athletics’ department will be honoring those who have battled melanoma or lost their battle with the skin disease by hosting melanoma awareness night this Friday evening.

The Cougars’ baseball and softball team will be hosting Monroe at the ballfields located on the campus of the high school during the event, where they will also hold a 50/50 raffle and a “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” basket raffle for two individual opportunities to go see the Rockford Rivet’ baseball team play.

Weather permitting, the Kona Ice Truck will also be there.

All funds raised will go towards the Beloit Health Foundation/Hospice Division.

The basket includes four corporate tickets to a Rivets’ game or tickets to Celebrity Night with free parking, Rivets’ hats and t-shirts for the whole family, an autographed baseball and ballpark snacks.

The first 50 people also receive a sun-care goodie bag.

Tickets for the raffle are $5 each or three for $10.

Clinton’s softball team will also be wearing a special shirt during the game.

First pitch for the baseball game is scheduled for 4:45 p.m. while the softball team will begin at 5:00 p.m.
