JEFFERSON — Tyler Fredrick pitched five effective innings and Jefferson’s baseball team blew the game open with an eight-run rally in the fourth inning, winning 10-0 over Clinton at Fischer Field in Rock Valley play Monday.

Fredrick retired the last five hitters he faced, including striking out the side in the fifth. He walked none and permitted just a pair of singles. Brady Vogel pitched a scoreless sixth.

Jefferson’s fourth inning included three RBI singles, a hit batter, an error and four walks. Fredrick plated a pair with a line shot single to center, extending the lead to 8-0. Drew Peterson followed with his second single of the frame, driving in Tyler Schroedl.

Dom Ritter scoring on a passed ball in the sixth inning enacted the 10-run rule for the Eagles, who improved to 11-2 overall and 7-1 in conference.
