ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. ( WATE ) — The family of Chadwick Carr is still searching for answers three years after he disappeared from Anderson County.

Carr was last seen on May 1, 2021, at The Foundation, a halfway house where his family said he was staying and participating in a recovery program. The Foundation is located at 1105 Dutch Valley Rd.

“It is still a tough pill to swallow,” his sister, Whitney Williams said. “It’s one of those moments where here we are again. Nothing has changed.”

Thursday will mark three years since he was reported missing. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating his disappearance. There have been little to no updates in the case.

It was a dead end two weeks after he went missing , which was three years ago, so we’ve hit a dead end since then and nothing has changed since,” Williams said.

Carr talked to his sister on the phone on the night of May 1, 2021. She said he was in the front yard of The Foundation house during the call, and she heard him start to talk to someone else before the call ended. She called him back, but he didn’t answer. The next day, Carr didn’t show up for work.

“It’s an empty feeling. It’s a void that just can’t be filled until we find him,” said Christa Carr, Chad’s mother.

Williams said Carr left behind his wallet, keys, van, phone, and a single flip-flop in the yard. Despite the lack of progress, the family hasn’t given up .

“Chad keeps you going. His spirit, you know, I keep that alive. Hoping that he’ll walk through this door or I’ll get a phone call saying it’s him or law enforcement will bring him to me, just anything,” Carr’s mom said.

According to his family, Carr had turned his life around at the time of his disappearance. He was working a new job and had saved up to buy his van. Now, three years have passed with no clues, but they’re convinced someone knows something.

“Anything you could think of that might not be a big issue, it might be the key we need to break this thing open,” Williams said. “Just to get the closure that we have been asking for, now going on three years.”
