BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WTRF) — A drug bust last night in Belmont County reportedly took enough drugs off the streets to prevent several deaths.

Sheriff Dave Lucas credits his drug interdiction team with the arrest of two alleged traffickers–Terrance Bradley of Cleveland and Alfred Alexander of Martins Ferry.

The sheriff says there was a quote “substantial amount” of meth, crack cocaine and fentanyl.

He says a lot of traffickers arrested in this area are from Cleveland.

I wish it was just easy to tell them to pack their bags and get out. But it’s all about the money. Get down here, they get our people addicted to it. And that’s cash in their pocket. Because drug dealers do nothing but deal in cash.”

The sheriff says both suspects are facing trafficking and possession charges.
