Photos: Otherworldly restaurant officially opening at Tower City Center this week

CLEVELAND (WJW) – Looking for an out-of-this-world eating experience? The Astro Restaurant is officially opening at Tower City Center this week.

The new restaurant, themed after fan-favorite science fiction franchises like Star Wars, Star Trek and Alien, is holding its grand opening at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The Astro Restaurant features seating for 196 guests, a Men In Black bar, a party room and otherworldly murals designed by local artists Isaiah Williams and Derek Walker, according to a press release.

Officials say dishes and drinks are named after beloved science fiction characters and there will be plenty of events planned for the whole family.

“With themed events, characters from your favorite sagas roaming the floor and surprises at every turn, dining at The Astro is like stepping into your own sci-fi adventure,” the press release said.

The restaurant was conceptualized by the managing partners who brought The Haunted House Restaurant to life in Cleveland Heights.

“We are thrilled to provide Clevelanders and tourists with yet another unforgettable dining experience,” said Andre Scott, one of the four managing partners. “The Astro will leave guests feeling as if they just traveled into outer space, while enjoying food and beverages from our sci-fi inspired menu.”

The new restaurant is located at 230 W. Huron Road in downtown Cleveland, where the old Hard Rock Café used to be.

The Astro Restaurant will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
