Priority OL Target Sets Official Visit with Clemson - The 4-star target has now firmed up plans to take an official visit to Clemson

Over the past few weeks, Hardy Watts and Clemson have been trying to overcome a scheduling conflict that would not allow the 4-star offensive lineman to attend the Tigers’ big official visit weekend May 31-June 2.

Consider that problem resolved. Watts told The Clemson Insider that he will, in fact, take an official to Clemson that first week in June. However, instead of coming in on that Friday, he will arrive on that Sunday and stay through Tuesday.

Dabo Swinney generally only hosts recruits on official visits that one weekend in June during the summer, so seeing the head coach have some flexibility in making sure Watts gets in, shows exactly what the staff thinks of the blue-chip talent.

    Official Visit Schedule

    • Clemson: June 2-4
    • Wisconsin: June 7-9
    • Duke June: 14-16
    • Michigan: June 21-23
    • Boston College: TBD

Watts made his first visit to Clemson back in March, which was followed by offensive line coach Matt Luke making recent a stop by his high school (Dexter, Brookline, Ma) during the evaluation period.

“He’s been amazing, an amazing person,” Watts told TCI during a recent interview. “He’s someone that you can connect with. He’s easy to connect with. He’s just a real, genuine person. He’s kind, he’s caring and an amazing guy. Someone that I would definitely want to play for. I saw him coaching, I loved how he coached the guys. He’s always calling me, checking in on how I’m doing. That’s just great communication.”

The 6-foot-6, 290-pound prospect is one of several high-profile offensive line targets that will take officials to Clemson next month, joining 5-star David Sanders and 4-star Mario Nash Jr, along with 3-stars Mal Waldrep, Max Buchanan and Rowan Byrne.

The Tigers already have two offensive line commitments in 4-stars Easton Ware and Brayden Jacobs, and are expected to add up to three more.
