Clemson paid a spring visit to this talented young Yellowhammer State prospect, who is starting to see his recruiting stock rise following a standout freshman season.

Tigers defensive tackles coach Nick Eason recently stopped by Benjamin Russell High School (Alexander City, Ala.), home to class of 2027 defensive lineman Kalib Spivey.

“It feels great to know that a program like Clemson is seeing the potential in me early,” Spivey told The Clemson Insider.

Spivey is clearly on the Tigers’ radar, and they invited him to compete at the Dabo Swinney Camp this summer. He plans to participate in the camp on June 4 and hopes to make a strong impression on the staff.

“I will be attending Clemson’s camp this summer,” he said. “I am ready to show the coaching staff my athleticism, effort, skills and love for the game of football.”

Spivey scored an offer from Oregon in late February, while he also holds early offers from Alabama State and Auburn, which extended his first offer this past September.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound rising sophomore is also drawing a lot of early interest from other schools as his recruitment begins to ratchet up.

“My recruiting process has been going good,” he said. “I have gotten three offers and have interest from plenty of schools. The schools I am feeling the most love from are Auburn and Florida.”

The Tigers have yet to start offering class of 2026 recruits, much less prospects in the 2027 class such as Spivey, but he would be thrilled to eventually earn the opportunity to suit up for Swinney’s program down the road.

“I think Clemson is a great program,” he said. “I know Clemson loves to win and I would love to play for a school like that. From what I have seen, the program produces a lot of players. Clemson is a school I have lots of interest in and could see myself in a Tigers jersey one day.”

When Spivey camps at Clemson, it will be his first time in Tiger Town. Alabama and Vanderbilt are a couple of the other schools he plans to camp at this summer.

As a freshman last season, he posted 72 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and six sacks.
