    Clemson Softball Weekly Wrap - Week 12

    Clemson, ranked as high as #23 in the nation, won two of three games at Louisville to close our the regular season.

    The Tigers (33-16) open up postseason play in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament (held in Durham) on Thursday, May 9th. The official bracket and seedings will be announced this weekend following the conclusion of all regular season play, but Clemson is locked into the 4/5 matchup and will face Virginia.

    Overall Record: 33-16 (15-9 ACC)

    TCI Hitter-of-the Week
    Maddie Moore
    The junior infielder from Loomis, CA earned her second hitter-of-the-week award after going 4-for-9 (.444) over three games last weekend. Moore scored four runs, drew a walk, and had three HBPs for a team-best .615 on-base percentage.

    TCI Pitcher-of-the-Week
    Valerie Cagle
    The senior righthander from Yorktown, VA earned her third pitcher-of-the-week award for her performance in the circle last weekend. In 5.0 innings in her Saturday start, Cagle allowed five runs (one earned) on six hits (.273 OBA) with a walk and six strikeouts while suffering a tough-luck loss.

    Weekly Notes:
    The Tigers outscored their opponents 20-16 over the week while outhitting the opposition .330 (29 hits) to .287 (25 hits). For the week, Clemson had five doubles, one homer, five HBPs, and nine walks against 13 strikeouts while going 2-4 on stolen bases. The Tiger pitching staff had a 3.50 ERA, allowing 16 runs (10 earned) across 20.0 innings with two walks and 13 strikeouts. Clemson fielded at a .931 clip, committing six errors in 87 chances.

    Looking Ahead:
    Clemson has wrapped up their regular season and will play in their fourth consecutive ACC Tournament. The Tigers are 5-3 all-time in the ACC Tournament with two appearances in the championship game (2021 and 2022). Clemson has faced Duke (2021: 0-1, 2023: 0-2), Florida State (2022: 6-8), Georgia Tech (2021: 2-0), North Carolina (2023: 2-1), Notre Dame (2022: 7-3), and Virginia Tech (2021: 2-0, 2022: 4-1) in their previous appearances.
