    Who should be the Clarksville-area girls high school athlete of the week for May 6-12? Here's your chance to vote.

    The poll will be open until noon on Thursday.

    Previous winners of the spring sports season are Houston County's Addie Horn , West Creek's Talia Brandt , Stewart County's Ema Borden , Stewart County's Faith Dacus , Houston County's Haylie Brooks , Clarksville's Madelyn South , Clarksville's Carlie Sheets , Montgomery Central's Addison Beech and Kirkwood's Jaydah Jordan .

    This week's nominees are listed below.

    Haylie Brooks, softball, Houston County: Went 2-for-2 with a double, a home run and three RBIs and gave up one hit in five innings with six strikeouts in a 10-0 win over McEwen in the District 12-1A tournament on May 7.

    Alijanae Cole, track and field, Northeast: Placed third in the long jump at the Class AAA Section 3 meet on May 9, advancing to the TSSAA state championship meet with a distance of 17 feet, 4 inches. Helped the Eagles take second in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:43.86, and finished sixth in the individual 200 (25.82 seconds).

    Bella Coon, softball, Northwest: Went 3-for-4 with two runs in a 15-4 win over West Creek on May 9 in the District 14-4A tournament. Pitched a complete game, giving up one hit and one earned run in five innings, while striking out two.

    Kristen DeSantis, track and field, Rossview: Won the Class AAA Section 3 title in the pole vault, clearing a height of 11 feet. Also qualified for state as part of the Hawks' 4x100-meter relay, which placed second (48.35 seconds), and set a personal best in the 100 meters (12.38) to finish sixth.

    Becca Fowler, softball, Montgomery Central: Pitched a no-hitter in an 11-0 win over Sycamore on May 6 in the District 11-3A tournament. Allowed only one baserunner in five innings, coming on an error.

    Kayleigh Hagewood, softball, Kirkwood: Went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run in an 8-5 loss to Springfield in the District 13-4A tournament on May 6.

    Ella Moore, track and field, Clarksville: Won the Section 3 championship in the shot put with a distance of 34 feet, 11 inches.

    Avah Sams, softball, Clarksville Christian: Pitched a complete game and went 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs in a 7-3 win over Franklin Road Christian in the TSIAA semifinals on May 11. Gave up six hits, no earned runs and struck out four to help the Centurions finish as state runners-up.
