Aurora HS grad and KSU pre-med student has 'had quite the journey'

Instead, the Aurora High School graduate, when she isn't engaged in her premed studies at Kent State University, is running marathons. "I have had quite the journey," said Trem. After a long recovery from a serious traffic accident, she ran the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon while a high school senior in October 2023. And just a couple of months after undergoing the last of three surgeries for a medical condition unrelated to the crash, she ran the Barcelona Marathon in Spain this past March. And to top it off, Trem is preparing to run in the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon on Nov. 7 after recovering from a recent outpatient procedure related to that condition. Trem says that she is determined to fight through her various issues, but admits that at times she has wondered about her various trials. Russell, who was removed from two fall courses and now teaches one online course, traces the dispute to a 2025 lesson on the ancient Greek tragedy Antigone.
