Okla. — A group of mental health organizations are partnering to bring resources to rural Oklahoma this week.

Parents Helping Parents (PHP), a nonprofit that provides education and resources to parents whose children are struggling with substance use, is hitting the road for a bus tour.

One of its stops? Green Country.

Joined by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health, Grand Mental Health and Stonegate Center, PHP will host the first-ever Hope on Wheels: A Mindful Journey Bus Tour outreach events to bring mental health resources to northeast Oklahoma.

On Thursday, the bus will stop in Sapulpa, Bartlesville, Nowata and Claremore.

On Friday, it'll stop in Wagoner, Muskogee and Shawnee.

Other organizations that are part of the bus tour include Aliya Health Group, Country Roads Recovery Center, CREOKS, Hope is Alive, OK Baptist Homes for Children, Youth & Family Services of North Central Oklahoma, Valley Hope Addiction Treatment Center, and more.

The groups are handing out information on the services and resources available.

“Empowering Oklahoma's future begins with nurturing the mental well-being of our children and supporting their parents ,” said Commissioner of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Allie Friesen. “Through dedicated support and accessible mental health services, we're building a foundation of resilience, hope, and opportunity for every family in Oklahoma.”
