UPDATE: State fire marshal will not investigate Watson Recycling fire
ORONOCO, Minn. (KTTC) – Pine Island Fire Department informed KTTC the state fire marshal was not contacted to investigate Monday morning’s fire at Watson Recycling. Pine Island Fire Chief Brandon Sather says lithium-ion batteries are believed to be the primary cause of the fire. Pine Island Fire Department determined the cause of the fire to not be suspicious, which prompted the decision to forego an investigation by the state.
