PORT ANGELES – Roundabouts are suddenly, more than ever, a topic of conversation on the Olympic Peninsula. We reported in April the Washington State Dept. of Transportation (WSDOT) is taking a hard look at adding two or more roundabouts along Highway 101 between Port Angeles and Sequim. In addition, two roundabouts are currently under construction just west of the Hood Canal Bridge.

Sentence in Clallam Bay Murder Handed Down
In a dramatic conclusion to a harrowing case, Clallam County Superior Court Judge Simon Barnhart has handed down a 41-year prison sentence to Cipriano Ojeda-Ibarra of Clallam Bay. The sentencing comes in response to Ojeda-Ibarra’s guilty plea for charges including premeditated murder in the first degree, two counts of assault in the second degree, and possession of a stolen firearm.
