The saga continues between a former Tiger and the Cincinnati Bengals, but a franchise great believes it will all work itself out.

Chad Johnson, known as ‘Ochocinco’ to many, spoke to TMZ Sports about the current situation with wide receiver Tee Higgins. He requested a trade from the team after contract negotiations never progressed.

“It always happens this time of year, those type of players, they want to get paid. I think they’ll work it out, they’re going to figure it out,” Johnson said.

Higgins is up to 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns over his four seasons in the NFL. He missed five games last season as the Bengals also battled through the absence of star quarterback Joe Burrow.

Johnson remains in contract with the frustrated receiver, and knows the nature of the sport is what has led to the back and forth in Cincinnati.

“I talked to Tee a few times…it’s business, it’s the nature of the business. He’s going to be all right though,” Johnson said.

At this point, the average salary for the top 10 wide receivers is $26.6 million. That price keeps going up as Higgins enters the season under the franchise tag.
