April 27 is now " Katt Williams Day" in Cincinnati.

The comedian and actor, who was born Sept. 2, 1971, in the Queen City, performed at Heritage Bank Center on Saturday while on The Dark Matter Tour. Backstage after the show, Cincinnati Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney, on behalf of Mayor Aftab Pureval, proclaimed April 27 as Katt Williams Day in the city.

The Wiz (WIZF-FM) shared a video of Kearney reading the proclamation to Williams on Instagram.

The proclamation mentioned Williams' notable career and performances at established venues, such as The Improv, The Comedy Club, The Ice House and Hollywood Park Casino. Kearney also referenced Williams' connection to Avondale, where he lived and performed.

The "Friday After Next" actor made headlines earlier this year for comments he made about fellow comics Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey and Rickey Smiley while on Shannon Sharpe's podcast, "Club Shay Shay."

Williams also performed in Cincinnati last year during his 2023 and Me Tour.
