Happy Thursday! Trending news editor David Wysong here.

I didn't live in Cincinnati as a kid, but I made sure to call in "sick" from school on the same day every year: Opening Day.

The first game of the MLB season is special in the Queen City. It's a holiday celebrating not only the tradition of the Reds but our community as a whole. Now that I'm part of that community, I'm honored to cover the festivities with my Enquirer colleagues.

We have absolutely everything you need for the big day, from parade info to a list of parties and even a beginner's guide to celebrating Opening Day the Cincinnati way. We will, of course, also cover the Reds-Nationals matchup this afternoon. Follow along with our sports team here.

I understand that's a lot to track down. Click here for our Opening Day checklist, where you can get it all in one place.
