SAN DIEGO — A shipment of kale with $38 million worth of methamphetamine was seized over the weekend at the Otay Mesa Cargo Facility, authorities said. The drug bust occurred Saturday around 12:08 p.m. when U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers inspected a tractor-trailer driven by a 34-year-old man, CBP said in a news release Wednesday.

A man and woman who were involved in a pair of South Bay altercations last year that left one man stabbed and another shot were sentenced Wednesday. Gillio Calais Repetto, 20, and Serenity Nieblas, 21, pleaded guilty to charges of assault with a deadly weapon for the February 2022 stabbing of one driver in the Eastlake area and the May 2022 shooting of another at a Chula Vista intersection.

Gunshot Victim Turns Up At Fallbrook Home, Taken to Hospital for Stomach Wound
A gunshot victim turned up Wednesday in a rural neighborhood in the far northern reaches of San Diego County, authorities reported. Woman Killed by Falling Cement Bag on State Route 52 Identified
The woman who was killed by bags of cement that spilled off of an overturned truck on the freeway overpass above her last Friday was identified Tuesday.
