A New Look is Coming at Petco Park
Doesn’t seem like it’s been almost 20 years since Petco Park opened. But this next year, 2024, it will be. And this week came the news about the planned 20-millon dollar improvement of Gallagher Square that used to be called the Park at the Park. It will include more room for fans in the area behind the actual ballpark with a lot more amenities. And it will enhance the presence of the statues of former Padres Tony Gwynn and Trevor Hoffman, both of whom led the Padre teams of their day to the World Series.
CIF State Regionals Update: Baseball/Softball
San Diego City Conference teams played Tuesday with two advancing to the CIF State Regional Semi-Finals. In baseball, the Patrick Henry Patriots scored early and then battled to defeat a very talented La Serna squad 5-1. The win was the #3 seed Patriots’ 21st of the year and now advance to play #2 seed Bakersfield Christian. The Eagles were South Yosemite League Champions and hold a 26-7 record on the season. Semi-Final action will be played June 1, 2023 @ 4:00pm @ Bakersfield Christian.
