The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 20 hearings on April 4, one of which involved a Chilton County offender.

Jerry Wayne Wilson was granted parole by the board during his hearing, but with special conditions. Wilson was granted parole, but will have to wear an ankle monitor and complete drug, mental health and NA/AA assessments.

Brenda Wilson, his stepmother, and Brenda Mills, his significant other, both spoke in favor of Wilson receiving parole. No one spoke against parole being granted.

Wilson was serving a 25-year sentence for a Theft of Property I arrest in Chilton County on June 10, 2005. He was also serving concurrent sentences for a Burglary III and Distribution of Controlled Substance arrests in the county. At his parole being granted, Wilson had served 19 years, three months and 26 days of his sentence with jail credit added in.
