CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A total of six officers graduated from the police academy and joined the Chicopee Police Department.

These graduates have completed over 20 weeks of intensive, standardized training in all aspects of law enforcement and are now poised to serve as full-time officers to protect the community of Chicopee.

Officer Gawron told 22News that he feels prepared and ready to serve with his fellow officers, “I’m happy that we got the people that we got and knowing that I’m going to be spending midnights, overnights, and everyday with these people, I’m assured that whatever I need they are going to be there for me. We’ve made some good friendships already and hopefully they last for the next 30 years.”

All six officers will begin their field training program next week.
