October 26, 1997 to April 4, 2024~ McKayla was born October 26, 1997, in Chico, California, to John and Tricia Quinn. McKayla’s family moved back to Oregon before she turned two. She attended Culver Elementary, Obsidian Middle School, and graduated from Culver High School in 2016.

In her early years, she had a zest for life and was full of sass. She loved pulling pranks on people, playing hide n seek, going on spontaneous adventures, camping, lake day outings with family and friends, and just going on thrilling car rides. McKayla was a strong fighter too. Many health setbacks never deterred her path, and she never gave up. She impacted many lives through her life trials, but most of all, she was a friend to all. She was her sister's biggest cheerleader through life as Grace was to her. They shared an unbreakable bond. She also had a smile that would light up anyone’s world and you could see the kindness she had towards others through her eyes and laughter.

McKayla had a passion for horses and eventually went horseback riding weekly for a couple of years through the Healing Reins program. She was also eager to try new things and wanting real outdoor adventures, and that’s where Camp Attitude came into her life and made an impact like no other. McKayla was blessed to have amazing “Buddies” for a week at a time and made friendships that lasted a lifetime. There were no barriers or limitations as to what she could do or couldn’t do at this camp. She experienced river rafting, jet skiing, tube rides, horseback riding, laser tag, coming up with a skit with her Buddy for the weekly world-renowned talent show, and executing late night shenanigans amongst the staff.

Through some of her camp friends, she was also invited to an OAS ski trip and from then on was hooked. She felt so free skiing down the summit of Bachelor to back country skiing at Hoodoo. McKayla was a thrill seeker, and her ski instructors knew it.

Later on in McKayla’s life, she developed a deep love for bowling and would bring on her A game every single time. It was the highlight of her life being able to visit and bowl amongst her friends and being able to see Christie and Jenni.

McKayla is survived by her parents, John and Tricia Quinn; sister, Grace Quinn; grandmother, Marilyn Dillon; great-uncles Joe Quinn, Jim Quinn; uncles Mike Dillon, Kelly Quinn, Marty (Tracy) Quinn, Danny (Michelle) Quinn, Uncle Paul; numerous cousins; plus many friends who became her family. She is preceded in death by grandmother, Rea Hanson; grandfathers, Larry Quinn, Larry Hanson, and Steve Dillon; and aunt, Jennifer Quinn.

On behalf of McKayla, we would like to thank the medical community for the wonderful care she received over the years with Dr. Mike Bell of Bend Neurology, and to JR, Barb, Kelly, Chaplain Chris and Dr. Tim Kelly with Hospice of Redmond. We are incredible grateful to each and every one of you.
