Woman fatally stabs man in domestic altercation inside Austin apartment: CPD

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police are investigating a Wednesday night incident in the Austin neighborhood during which a woman stabbed a man to death.

It happened at about 10:30 p.m. in an apartment near Lotus Avenue and Madison Street.

Police are calling the dead man “the offender.”

According to police, the two were in a verbal altercation that became physical.

“The male put both hands around the female’s neck and she then removed a knife and stabbed the male on the right side of the neck,” Police said in a statement. “The offender then fled the apartment and was transported to Stroger hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.”

The woman was also taken to a hospital with bruising to the face and body.

CPD have labeled the case an aggravated battery and homicide.
