Springfield Mixing Bowl Car Meet Arrests
Brandon Extecoc Santos, 20, of Parkville, was arrested on Friday, April 19, in connection with the "street takeover" Easter Sunday, Fairfax County police announced. Santos was charged with abduction, assault on a law enforcement officer, wearing a mask in public, and obstruction of justice. He was held in Baltimore County, Maryland pending extradition back to Fairfax County. Police did not detail his involvement in the March 31 incident.
Two-alarm fire out at Enclave apartments in Silver Spring
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service extinguished a two-alarm fire at the Enclave high-rise apartment complex in the White Oak area of Silver Spring on Tuesday morning. Officials responded to the fire around 7:35 a.m. As of 10 a.m., only one person was transported to hospital for a minor injury they incurred while evacuating the buildings, according to officials. More than 30 units responded.
Charles man sentenced for manslaughter after crash
The state’s attorney for Charles County announced on April 10 that the Charles County Circuit Court sentenced Michael Darrell Dukes, 22, of Hyattsville to 10 years with all but 18 months suspended in prison for the 2022 death of Zkira Kemp. Dukes entered a guilty plea to gross negligent manslaughter earlier this year on Feb. 26.
