32,820 Blizzards for 2024 Miracle Treat Day
32,820 blizzards were sold this year in Madison, for the 19th Annual Children’s Miracle Treat Day. As in years past, the event at the Dairy Queen in Madison included a full day of fun and games, and raised money for the Children’s Miracle Network. In addition to the proceeds from every blizzard sold going to CMN, two local families added special donations. The Kevin and Lauri Minnaert family donated one dollar to CMN for every blizzard sold from 12-to-1pm Thursday. The Gitzen family in Madison also did a match from 5-6pm.
Mart in the Park this Saturday in Madison
Library Park in Madison will be packed with shopping and games on Saturday for the annual Mart in the Park. The event begins this Saturday at 9am and runs until 3pm. Entertainment at Library Park will include performances from the Madison Master Singers at 9:30am, the Madison Community Band at 10:30, Grace Expressions Dance Studio at 11:30, and Bobbi Clayton with kids songs at 12:30.

Eventually, he started a collection of barns. “I had a neighbor, Max Crisp, and he said, ‘Jimmy, you ought to get that round barn over at Sandros before the river does.’ The Sioux River takes turns taking things out — you know how the river works.
