The second of the three suspects arrested and accused in last year's rock-throwing death of Alexa Bartell appeared in Jefferson County Court on Wednesday. Nicholas "Mitch" James Karol-Chik pleaded guilty to three new charges, including second-degree murder, in an agreement reached with the prosecution. Karol-Chik, 19, pleaded guilty to his role in a series of rock-throwing attacks between Feb. 25, 2023 and April 19, 2023. Colorado police release sketch of man who attempted to abduct child on walk to school
PARKER, Colo. (KKTV) - Police in Parker have released a sketch of the suspect in an attempted child abduction that occurred near an elementary school earlier this month. According to police, the man pictured in the composite sketch is accused of trying to grab an elementary-aged boy while he was walking to school on May 8. Police said the boy described the suspect as “a white male, approximately 50 years old, with graying hair and a mustache.” Police also said the suspect was driving a black Audi with Colorado plates, dark tinted windows and a rack.

Inmate dies while in Denver Sheriff Department custody
A man in custody at Denver's Downtown Detention Center died Thursday morning. His death is now being investigated by the Denver Police Department. Denver Sheriff Department deputies found the man unresponsive in a housing unit at the Downtown Detention Center — located near Civic Center Park — around 6 a.m. Thursday morning, according to a news release from the department.
