CJ Barrymore’s in Clinton Township opens largest Go-Kart course in Michigan

CLINTON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) Just in time for its fiftieth anniversary, CJ Barrymore’s in Clinton Township has found a new way to reach for the sky…or for the SkyTrack.

The Macomb County amusement center on Hall Road is opening an-all new Indy SkyTrack Go-Kart course, the largest in Michigan. It measures three-stories-tall (30 feet) and 1,500 feet long. A ribbon cutting was held Friday.

Owner and founder Rick Iceberg told WWJ’s Jon Hewett they can’t believe they have been in business for fifty years: “We were just happy to survive the first five or ten years, because we didn’t realize what was involved. It started as a little driving range and it grew from there.”

The Indy SkyTrack was a $3 million investment, our own Jon Hewett reported.

“Every year, we try to come up with some plan, some new thing,” Iceberg told Hewett.

You can also find an arcade, bowling, mini bowling, bumper cars, laser tag and a golf dome inside the Amusement Center. Outdoor attractions include a drop tower and junior drop tower, saddle swing, spinning coaster, ferris wheel, batting cages, bumper boats, euro bungy and more.

All-day unlimited ride wristbands cost $49 per person. All attractions are included in the cost except the arcade and the batting cages.

If you only want to ride on the Indy SkyTrack, it costs $12.

CJ Barrymore’s hours of operation are Friday 4p-11p, Saturday 12p-11p and Sunday 12p-8p. The golf dome and driving range are open everyday 10a-7p.
