(PINPOINT WEATHER) — We saw a warm but beautiful day throughout the Carolinas Wednesday. Highs reached the mid-80s this afternoon along with muted humidity.

Even warmer temperatures are on the way for Thursday with afternoon highs potentially pushing up towards the 90-degree mark. We could see the warmest day so far this year. Friday we are still expecting toasty temperatures, but some scattered storms are possible in the afternoon ahead of a weekend cold front.

This weekend is increasingly stormy as a cold front moves through the Carolinas. Scattered showers and storms are expected for both Saturday and Sunday along with cooler temperatures with highs in the upper-70s.

More showers and storms could even linger into next week on Monday before clearing out.
