How Olympian Evy Leibfarth would spend a day in Charlotte

Evy Leibfarth is heading to Paris this summer to compete in her second Olympic Games . But before she gives us the scoop on where to get the best croissants in Paris, let's dive into how she'd spend the day in Charlotte.

Catch up quick: The 20-year-old Bryson City native, who frequently trains at the U.S. National Whitewater Center , qualified earlier this month at the U.S. Olympic team trials for canoe/kayak slalom in Montgomery, A.L.

First of all: She's sleeping in.

    • "I'm not a morning person," Leibfarth told Axios' Maxwell Millington at the Team USA media summit earlier this month.
    • Then it's off to Amélie’s for breakfast. She's a big fan of their egg sandwiches and pastries, followed by Midtown Park or Freedom Park for a run on Little Sugar Creek Greenway , which she describes as a "super great midday activity" and "so pretty."
    • Lunch would be a wrap from Viva Chicken.
    • Then it's off to the Whitewater Center to kayak, but she says it's also a great place to go rafting, mountain biking, free solo (the rock climbing wall where you fall into a pool when you want to get down) or just hanging out and listening to live music.
    • It's sushi for dinner at O-Ku in South End, which she says is the best sushi in Charlotte . Then it's off to bed.

What's next: The Olympic Games run July 26 - Aug. 11.
