You're out for a run and suddenly, you have to go to the bathroom.

State of play: When runners have to go, they have to GO. We caught up with Charlotteans and Charlotte-area residents running Monday's 128th Boston Marathon about the best bathrooms in Charlotte for runners.

Editor's note: Runners are listed alphabetically by last name. Answers have been edited for clarity and brevity.

Bekah Eljoundi: Park Road Park. Gas stations in Blakeney. Porta potties are gold.

Erin Del Giudice: Run in a neighborhood with houses under construction and you'll likely run into a porta-potty.

Megan Hovis: Harris Teeter bathrooms. Four Mile Creek Greenway trailhead across from Trader Joe's at Rea Road and Bevington Place.

Kayleigh Hudson: Park Road Park. The porta potty on Little Sugar Creek Greenway at Huntingtowne Farms Park .

Curtis "C.J." Langley: Park Road Park . There's nothing like an actual bathroom.

Will Martin: Freedom Park . That single porta-potty on Little Sugar Creek Greenway is always a lifesaver!

Carrie Parry: Dowd YMCA and the Starbucks on East Boulevard.

Chase Price: The porta-potty at Huntingtowne Farms Park along Little Sugar Creek Greenway. Carry single-pack Dude Wipes .

My thought bubble: I have planned my running routes around bathrooms. The porta-potty along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway at Huntingtowne Farms remains my lighthouse on long runs.
