Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's 15-year-old biological daughter Seraphina Rose revealed a new name and gender during a memorial service at Christ Church United Methodist in Charleston, West Virginia.
"Hello, my name is Fin Affleck," Affleck's transgender middle child said at the church lectern before reading from the Book of Proverbs.
"Better is a little with righteousness than a large income with injustice," the teenager said during the funeral for Garner's 85-year-old father, William Jack Garner, who died on April 2.
Affleck's child was wearing a short boyish haircut and wore a black suit, white shirt, and black tie.
The teenager was captured by paparazzi in February when Garner was seen hugging the teenager at a school bus stop in Los Angeles while carrying a backpack with the name "Fin" embroidered.
The gender reveal at the memorial received various reactions online.
"Ben Affleck's young daughter just changed her name and is now identifying as trans. Jennifer Lopez's daughter also recently came out as nonbinary," Libs of TikTok's Chaya Raichik said on X. "2 IN 1 FAMILY! WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?!"
"Having an LGBTQ kid is trendy in Hollywood. It's like having the latest designer bag," she added.
"Hollywood is a transgender Satanic club," another social media user chimed in.
Affleck and Garner divorced in 2018, and he married singer Jennifer Lopez in 2022.
Lopez celebrated her biological daughter Emme Maribel Muniz's nonbinary journey by referring to her child as "they" and "them" during a surprise duet at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala in June 2022.
"The last time we performed together was in a big stadium like this, and I ask them to sing with me all the time, and they won't. So this is a very special occasion," Lopez told the audience in a now-viral TikTok video with her gender-neutral child. "They are very, very busy. Booked. And pricey. They cost me when they come out. But they're worth every single penny because they're my favorite duet partner of all time. So if you will indulge me."
The Affleck-Lopez children are not the only Hollywood offspring who have had a gender transition.
Former Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade fought his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches, whom he divorced in 2010, in her challenge to his effort to transition his biological teenage son into a female. The mother objected and sued Wade, asking the court not to allow a gender transition until the child reached 18 years old. Wade won a ruling in legally changing the child's name and gender in court.
The following day after the court decision, Wade and his wife, Gabrielle Union, were honored with the President's Award for their support of the LGBT community at the NAACP Image Awards in Pasadena, California, and they celebrated the child's transition in their acceptance speech.
Actress Jamie Lee Curtis famously championed the transgender subject when her biological son transitioned to a female in 2020. In 2023, Curtis referred to her Oscar statue as " they/them " in tribute to her transgender daughter, Ruby.
Charlize Theron said she discovered her oldest adopted child, a biological male, was a girl when the child was at age 3 .
"I thought she was a boy, too," Theron said in an interview. "Until she looked at me when she was 3 years old and said, 'I am not a boy!'"

Annette Bening and Warren Beatty's eldest child transitioned to a male in 2012. They praised the "revolutionary" child in an interview in 2016.
