Lincoln Co. deputies investigating illegal trash dump

CHANDLER, Okla. ( KFOR ) – Lincoln County deputies are working to crack down on illegal trash dumping. Deputies told News 4 it is a growing issue in the city of Chandler.

Lincoln County deputies recently received a Facebook tip that someone dumped their trash on the side of the road near 850 Rd. and 3450 Rd.

DEQ Deputy Phil Bennett responded to the scene. While cleaning up, investigators found items with names on them. Now they’re hoping to use those items to track down who left the garbage.

Deputies told News 4 illegal dumping is a growing problem in the city. They said residents will often find garbage and large appliances along rural streets, because of a lack of dumping sites in Chandler.

Deputies said the perpetrator could face charges.
