    Champlin Park girls lax wins seven straight to open season

    Champlin Park girls lacrosse continued a dominant run through their 2024 season last week with two wins, starting with a 15-2 home triumph over Andover. The result was Andover’s first conference loss of the season. The Huskies were previously 4-0 in Northwest Suburban Conference play.

    Lauren Schindlebeck and Annabelle Johnson each scored four goals in the win for Champlin Park and Johnson added five assists. Reese Hagenbart scored three goals against Andover. Alayna Roehl scored twice, while Ella Engstrom and Anna Pitzen scored one each.

    Champlin Park entered last week already 5-0 overall, having defeated Rosemount, Anoka, Coon Rapids, Wayzata and Edina. The Rebels outscored those opponents 62-18.

    In the win over Edina, Schindlebeck scored her 100th career goal.

    Champlin Park picked up a second win last week with a 20-2 over Blaine. Johnson added three goals and five assists in the victory, while Miley Jiracek scored three goals and made four assists.

    Roehl continued a strong week with three goals and two assists. Hagenbart scored three goals as well, making one assist. Schindlebeck scored two, while Engstrom, Aubrey Onchiri, Arabella Senescall, and Carisa Gunderson scored one each.

    Champlin Park ended the week with a 4-0 Northwest Suburban Conference record, 7-0 overall.

    Champlin Park will play two games the following week, hosting Spring Lake Park and Centennial on May 6 (after this edition went to press) and Wednesday, May 8, to conclude their conference schedule.
