CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Students at a Champaign school geared up for Mother’s Day with a blooming art project.

Kindergarteners at Bottenfield Elementary School picked, snipped, and placed the flowers in a beautiful arrangement fit for mom with the help of a local florist.

Rick Orr said it’s a unique experience for students and one he enjoys doing every year.

“Presumably, we’re the only class that does this for Mother’s Day, and I so enjoy coming and showing the kindergarten class how to make an arrangement to take home to their mothers for Mother’s Day.”

Orr has helped students create their Mother’s Day floral arrangements for several years now and believes they’ll be future florists in no time.
